Join musician and Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher Sawyer Ward for a beautiful celebration to welcome Spring. This Kirtan honors three scared celebrations of Spring from different traditions:

Holi, the Hindu Festival of Colors, which welcomes Spring and celebrates sacred love between Krishna and Radha that will be celebrated this year on 3/14

St. Patrick’s Day, the celebration of the introduction of Catholicism to Ireland and worldwide celebration of Irish culture on 3/17 (the observed day of St. Patrick’s death)

Spring Equniox, the progression of the sun into Aries, which marks the astrological new year. Spring Equniox happens at 3:01am MDT on 3/20/25.

Kirtan is call-and-response style group chanting, and Sawyer is a masterful leader and storyteller. She chooses meaningful mantras (sacred chants) and songs from a number of traditions to align the vibration of the group with the intent of the celebration. For this event, expect uplifting and opening, welcoming the new birth of Spring into the world and into our lives.

Chanting and singing are a balm to the Vishuddha, or throat, Chakra, which rules the thinking mind and the space between our shoulders and ears. Thought, speech, the practice of satya, or truthfulness, and our clear perception of things are supported by Kirtan. Practicing in a lovely and soothing community setting is doubly beneficial, as all levels of participation and skill are welcome.
